Yunus Chamda

I am an enthusiastic, amateur photographer!

Over the years I have enjoyed the art, the craft and the technological aspects of photography. This website is established purely for sharing my interest in photography with others. It has no commercial purpose at all.

My interest in photography is wide ranging, but as this website reflects, capturing landscapes and seascapes is what I enjoy the most. That may evolve over time as I explore my never ending fascination with photography.

Professionally, I am a former school teacher and I am currently working in local government as a Municipal Manager. In 1994, after the advent of democracy in South Africa, I became a public representative. Between 1996 and 2000, I had the honour of serving as the Mayor of the Lekoa-Vaal Metro in South Africa. In the course of my work as a Mayor, on the 10 December 1996, I hosted former President Nelson Mandela during the signing ceremony of South Africa's new, fully democratic, Constitution.

Photography remains my 'sanctuary' away from the demands of work.
